• the car-park gates are now controlled by remote control. Each house has been allocated a 'zapper' to open them, they close automatically after a short time. The zapper has two buttons, the larger one opens the carpark gate near our house and the smaller one opens the carpark gate at the bottom of the complex, near the post boxes. On the same dolphin keyring is a green key which opens the pedestrian gates into the complex. When you arrive by car, the keyring will be inside the house on the key rack near the coat stand. You will need to park in the road, use your other pedestrian gate key to get into the grounds, then get into the house to get the zapper. When you leave remember to leave it on the key rack.

April 2005

• to increase security, new, higher fences have been erected between the road and the grounds. The new gates to the road now have locks, and should remain locked. A key which fits all the locks is provided.
• there is now an identification card for each house which is to be used to show that you can use the pool. We suggest that you leave it in the house and return for it if you are asked, rather than carry it with you each time ( and potentially loose it ! ).
• work has started on new apartments behind Ed Cid 1, but not directly behind our apartment.

January 2003

• we now have a new TV and decoder for the cable TV - and 45+ channels. The decoder needs some time ( they say up to 20 minutes ) after the electricy has been switched one ( or after a power cut ) to start to decode. If you choose a scrambled channel, press the top left button on the TV remote to unscramble. We have paid to receive BBC1 and BBC2 as well as the others we used to get.
• the wooden shutters in the main bedroom have been replaced with aluminium ones with tilting louvers.
• the fridge freezing compartment door has been fixed.

July 2002

• the hinge on the freezing compartment door in the fridge has broken, the door will sit between the the two sides but it is a bit difficult and sometimes stops the main fridge door shutting
• the roundabout at the entrance to Cabo Roig has been completed - at last ! This makes getting into the village from the Torrevieja direction much easier.
• we have contacted the satelite TV company and re-connected the 25+ channels - from September they will start to scramble the English stations and we will need a decoder
• the road from Torrevieja is becoming more and more congested with the building of many roundabouts to allow access to the villages - try to avoid in the rush hours
• the heaps of earth in the area behind the house are slowly being removed.
• we now have more plants on the roof - one a small lemon tree - please water vines frequently and others sparingly
• the water pressure seems to be a lot lower in summer - it took so long to find the correct position for the main stop-cock under the sink that we have decided not to switch off the water when the house is empty

May 2002

• a new largish supermarket has opened in La Zenia - eConsum - take the left exit at the La Zenia roundabout and it is on the left with a large carpark
• we have re-organised the roof - with the wash line now being to the left with the washing machine and a covered area with small ( at the moment ) vines on the right.
• a lot of the earth from the road works on the main road is being dumped in the area behind the house - we hope this isn't too dusty

February 2002

• air conditioning ( which cools and heats ) has been installed in the living room and the main bedroom. We have no idea low much this costs to run so please do not overuse !
• the shutters in the main bedroom have been repaired / strengthed - but they don't look very pretty - we will probably replace them in 2003.
